Grand Rounds is Very Up
Grand Rounds is up at Dr. Hebert's Medical Gumbo. And a very fine Grand Rounds it is, based on Edgar Allen Poe's poem The Raven. We call these birds Thompson Turkeys in northern Manitoba and the Haida on the west cost where I live now, credit them as the creators of the world. Go see what Dr. Hebert has done with this bird and the poem. It makes a fine theme for this eerie time of year.

Ah, distinctly I remember twins delivered last September
Sadly recalled by the Fat Doctor, a patient that she had before;
Or maybe Ghosts the Tundra froze, that living were Yupik Eskimos.
I steeled myself – made no fuss, recalled a day on the Singing Bus
Traveling happily through Uganda, Borneo Breezes dancing
on the wooden floor.
Simply this, and nothing more.
